Ferry Charge???
I read in chat an alliance asking for tip from players interested in getting a ferry to the elite mission in the House zu Helzer. Why should a player pay them for a ferry just because they are controling the town. Isn't this against any rules??? The controlling alliance should either not want us to play elite or allow us to play for free. We payed $50 for the game and I already feel limited to playing 100% of the product. Why should they have the right to charge players for a ferry to the elite mission.
Tell me is my complaint wrong or should Anet ban alliances from controlling when they charge players for a ferry to elite missions??

LoL!
Have you ever thought that the "payment" can be ingame gold as well?
No way anyone's going to pay real money :P

I'm not saying pay real money to them. I'm talking about the further unfairness involved in an in-game charge. They shouldn't be allowed to charge us to play a mission. Why should I pay in-game gold that I work hard on getting, just to play an elite mission?

Cavalon's Elite is free-free at the moment, and ANet is working on a second way to enter the Elites so they are little more accessible to the 'common' nonfarmers.
Currently the controlling alliance can do whatever they want with the elite, they worked to get the town, so they earned the right under the current game mechanics.

I guess Grenth and Balthazar should be banned too. They charge 1K to get into their areas.
Most alliances do not charge for access. But they can't monitor every member all the time.

if they are making a money from ferrying people into the elite mission, people just won't help them hold the city and let another guild take over. I'm sure some guilds like [TC] will be making the ferries to the elite mission free.

thats what I told them in game. I said that if you can't get banned from do what they are doing, eventually an alliance will over take them in a few hours or a day.

how they do things are not decided by anyone but them, if they feel like doing that, then let them do it. It would be ridiculous anyway to "ban" people to charge for ferries.. i mean its just like saying people aren't allowed to run people from one town to another in prophecies. You can't just ban something you don't like and expect people to agree with you

Whatever guild holds the capital is allowed to do whatever they want with the elite mission. If they hold it to themselves, give all away for free, or charge 100k + 50 ectos is completely their choice.

Because they worked harder on getting that town. You can either take it for yourself or wait until a Guild that doesn't charge takes it over.
Anet must have considered that some Guilds would charge for letting people through the gates, so I doubt anyone is going to get banned for doing so.

I think that after farming all that faction, They should have the right to charge people to acess he place. Reminds me of toll booths.

Umm...were you saying that when Bkbd where holding Cavalon too? I bet not.
Orkz allow people in for free, I've not seen any paid ferries in HzH since they took control. Doesnt mean it cannot or will not happen but its definitely not a normal occurence.

In affect, as it says when you enter the town, it is "owned" by that alliance, so they can do whatever they like. They put in the time and effort, so its up to them.

As has been stated a few times, it's not against the rules. Their faction level gives them control over the mission. If they want to charge outsiders to enter, that's their call, nothing is forcing you to play that mission at that time. You could come back when a different alliance controls the city.

Them charging you for access to the Elite, is like charging for a run to droks.
Yes, you could get access yourself, by farming enough faction to take control. Or you could pay them. Nothing wrong imho.
Someone has worked hard to achieve something and are asking for tips from people that they allow to share their reward for their hard work.
